Welcome to the hive! We first want to thank each and every one of our customers for not only shopping with us, but providing amazing interactions and building a community we could have only dreamed of! Although we may be a drop in the bucket compared to big carbon companies, we take pride in every product we release to our consumers. All products are thoroughly checked by quality control ensuring they are of the highest quality.
Our Beginning
The journey starts with twin brothers (Austin left, Logan right) who are the founders and owners of Hives. They had liked many of the same things growing up, especially nice cars. When they were able to legally drive, Austin bought a 2015 Scion TC RS 9.0, and Logan bought a 2013 Nissan Altima. Despite the cars being regular daily’s, they drove to the car meets every Tuesday night at Sonic in Huntley, Illinois. This is where they got introduced into the depths of the car world. Neither had any car knowledge; they learned as much as they could about every car, every part, and every style. They quickly fell in love with carbon fiber parts, eventually seeking out carbon fiber parts for their cars. An issue arose when no carbon fiber parts were available for their vehicles. Being in the Chicagoland area, there had to be someone custom making carbon fiber to each vehicle… right? Well there was, but at a very expensive rate. So they had to come up with their own solution, making the carbon fiber parts themselves.
The Solution
As they researched for weeks on end, they found the fabrication process required a lot of precision, patience and dedication. They knew it would not be an easy road but wanted to help not only themselves but the entire car community. The solution they had come up with was to make custom carbon fiber/composite parts for vehicles that did not have the aftermarket support behind it. They would try to get orders at car meets, make them, and return all in the same week. This made it attractive to buyers who also wanted a quick turn around time.
Another problem arose when they couldn't keep up with orders and knew they had to take some of the load off. This gave them the idea to sell other carbon fiber companies products cheaper than all of the competitors. Which allowed the customers of Hives to find any part they needed in one place at a fair price. Being smaller, it would also include a very personal customer service environment ensuring every customer was happy with what they recieved. This would also grow the company so they could expand into a shop/warehouse building. On top of it all, they could offer more services such as professional installation, warranty and non-warranty repairs, and offer customers a chance to view how it is made.
Future Plans
Hives hopes to be one of the name brand carbon fiber companies everybody knows and trusts. Unlike the current companies who barely offer any customer support, it is exactly what sets Hives apart from the rest. Between different services offered to the warranty of every Hives product our customers can count on us with any project they need. We hope to eventually have brick and mortar stores across the United States offering carbon fiber services. Not only has this never been done before, but it would completely change how customers receive, buy, and maintain carbon fiber parts. No longer will it feel transactional; Hives is dedicated to bringing the personal connections back to the game and changing how that game is played. To not only support the car community, but help grow it in a place everybody can trust within the community.
